When will we have a planet free of nuclear weapons and how? The bigger question is does humanity want to end the threat of nuclear war as a deterrent? America and Russia signed a landmark nuclear pact lowering nuclear stockpiles by 30 percent limiting each side to 1,550 deployed warheads.

As evolved as civilization believes it is, humanity is like a group of children on the school playground with cliques and judgments, with bullying and manipulation between groups and even between friends. We obviously have a long way to go before we experience a nuclear free world but it will happen, just not this century. Will we keep our finger off of the ‘big red button’ long enough to see a nuclear free world? Yes, rest assured, we will not have a nuclear war. The step America and Russia took in signing the nuclear pact brought us one small step closer towards world peace through ending the perceived value of nuclear deterrents, but a step is still a step.
